"The Invitation"

John 1:43-51New Revised Standard Version

Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.” 46 Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael asked him, “Where did you get to know me?” Jesus answered, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.” 49 Nathanael replied, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And he said to him, “Very truly, I tell you,[External link opens in new tab or windowa] you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

Oh God You are my God

And I will ever praise You

Oh God You are my God

And I will ever praise You

And I will seek You in the morning

And I will learn to walk in Your ways

And step by step You'll lead me

And I will follow You all of my days

I Am Thine O Lord (I Am Thine)

Verse 1

I am Thine O Lord I have heard Thy voice

And it told Thy love to me

But I long to rise in the arms of faith

And be closer drawn to Thee

Draw me nearer nearer blessed Lord

To the cross where Thou hast died

Draw me nearer nearer nearer blessed Lord

To Thy precious bleeding side

Verse 2

Consecrate me now to Thy service Lord

By the pow'r of grace divine

Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope

And my will be lost in Thine

Verse 3

Oh the pure delight of a single hour

That before Thy throne I spend

When I kneel in prayer and with Thee my God

I commune as friend with friend

Verse 4

There are depths of love that I cannot know

Till I cross the narrow sea

There are heights of joy that I may not reach

Till I rest in peace with Thee

 Come Just As You Are

Verse 1

Come just as you are hear the Spirit call

Come just as you are

Come and see (come and see)

Come receive (come receive)

And strength for today

Taste the Living Water

And never thirst again

Verse 2

Come just as you are hear the Spirit call

Come just as you are

Come receive (come receive)

Christ the King (Christ the King)

Come and live (come and live) forevermore

Thou my great Father I Thy true son

Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one

 He Leadeth Me

Verse 1

He leadeth me O blessed thought

O words with heavenly comfort fraught

Whate'er I do where'er I be

Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me

He leadeth me He leadeth me

By His own hand He leadeth me

His faithful follower I would be

For by His hand He leadeth me

Verse 2

Sometimes 'mid scenes of deepest gloom

Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom

By water's calm o'er troubled sea

Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me

Verse 3

Lord I would clasp Thy hand in mine

Nor ever murmur nor repine

Content whatever lot I see

Since 'tis my God that leadeth me

Verse 4

And when my task on earth is done

When by Thy grace the victory's won

E'en death's cold waves I would not flee

Since Thou through Jordan leadeth me
