Genesis 2:15-22
New Revised Standard Version

15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”

18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.” 19 So out of the ground the Lord God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every animal of the field; but for the man[External link opens in new tab or windowa] there was not found a helper as his partner. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.

Genesis 3:20

20 The man named his wife Eve,[External link opens in new tab or windowa] because she was the mother of all living.

Love Divine (Beecher)

Verse 1
Love divine all loves excelling
Joy of heaven to earth come down
Fix in us Thy humble dwelling
All Thy faithful mercies crown
Jesus Thou art all compassion
Pure unbounded love Thou art
Visit us with Thy salvation
Enter every trembling heart

Verse 2
Breathe O breathe Thy loving Spirit
Into every troubled breast
Let us all in Thee inherit
Let us find Thy promised rest
Take away the love of sinning
Alpha and Omega be
End of faith as its beginning
Set our hearts at liberty

Verse 3
Come Almighty to deliver
Let us all Thy grace receive
Suddenly return and never
Never more Thy temples leave
Thee we would be always blessing
Serve Thee as Thy hosts above
Pray and praise Thee without ceasing
Glory in Thy perfect love

Verse 4
Finish then Thy new creation
Pure and spotless let us be
Let us see Thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in Thee
Changed from glory into glory
Till in heaven we take our place
Till we cast our crowns before Thee
Lost in wonder love and praise

The Gift Of Love

Verse 1
Though I may speak with bravest fire
And have the gift to all inspire
And have not love my words are vain
As sounding brass and hopeless gain

Verse 2
Though I may give all I possess
And striving so my love profess
But not be given by love within
The profit soon turns strangely thin

Verse 3
Come Spirit come our hearts control
Our spirits long to be made whole
Let inward love guide every deed
By this we worship and are freed

Blest Be The Tie (Dennis)

Verse 1
Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above

Verse 2
Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers
Our fears our hopes our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares

Verse 3
We share each other's woes
Our mutual burdens bear
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear

Verse 4
When we asunder part
It gives us inward pain
But we shall still be joined in heart
And hope to meet again

Verse 5
This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way
While each in expectation lives
And longs to see the day

Verse 6
From sorrow toil and pain
And sin we shall be free
And perfect love and friendship reign
Through all eternity
